Socializing for a day
Today I went to my uni's welcome program, arrived alone without knowing anyone, but left with a very good time meeting some new people.
You know sometimes you would be rewarded an angel: when you sit in an auditorium, someone really nice will appear from no where and sit next to you, start talking to you and stick with you for even just a day? Right when you need it. Then the vibe between you two will attract a few more other people, and here you have a perfect small group for the otherwise boring event?
Though these really nice people might actually just become passer bys and you might not be super close to each other (sadly we are in different programs),but I had a really nice day, feeling young and fresh. And I am grateful.
I was very worried that I would be lonely and nobody would talk to me etc, but it turns out it worked out very fine. I do have my social skills, and I can do it in a second language just fine! Anyways it's a happy day, and it does make a difference being in a uni environment compared to the bitter sweet CBD offices...
