Weekly Notes #1
Today I want to write about stuff I found on the internet that was interesting for me the past week.
Life in Weeks
I have heard of this thinking a few years ago, and saw people posting printing a huge chart to pin on the wall, and started some kind of count down and remind themselves that life is short. At the time I thought it was kind of a bad idea to print out life like that...
This week I read through the post by Tim Urban and tried an online web page that allows you to put in words and emoji.
The post is theory is famous, though it was my first time to read the original article. I put in my milestones and found that things happening more dramatically in my 20s, naturally. But it does help me think about how to progress into 30s, be more thoughtful of my time, do things I really want to do, and leave the ones I don't feel comfortable to do.
Thousand Year Old Vampire
I also knew this game for quite some time and finally got it. A well-made solo journaling RPG is precious. The graphic is beyond good, and the prompts are open-ended enough that you can tell any story from them.
Apart from playing through it myself, I also enjoyed Mystery Quest's videos, this one and this one. I found their channel recently and really like the overall vibe of their playthroughs, I also watched them playing Mothership.
Back to TYOV, I am thinking of recording my playthrough in my upcoming podcast episode, and I would like to use ancient China as a background, because last year I spent months studying it.

Syncing my Obsidian vault to iPad
I don't want to carry my laptop with me all the time, but I do need to access my notes on readings etc. I decide to finally sync my Obsidian vault, which needed a bit of work. I used the Remotely Save plugin, and Infini Cloud. It was super easy to set up, and quick to sync. Also it is free, yay. The config doc is not synced, so the iPad interface would not have the other plugins and themes. It's fine for me, since I only need to download PDF++ and Dataview. I leave the iPad version a lighter and simpler one to check my notes, not creating them.
