Weekly Notes #16
July 20 - Aug 2
sick for the whole week...
Exercising
Third running event of 2026, I went to Harbour 10k last Sunday. It was a super fun, quick and flat course with great views. Reached my 10k pb by a little bit, so I am happy. Still a long way to go to achieve my 10k goal time, but I will make it eventually given some more time. It was a bit chilly early morning, so despite I was very excited, I did catch a cold afterwards...

Before the week of the event I ran 4 times to catch up training, worked out well.
Went to a 10k coastal walk with friends. Started a bit late in the afternoon, but really nice weather, caught the sunset and it was a fun route with well maintained infrastructure.

Reading
- STILL Listening to Brandon Sanderson's The Well of Ascension, such a long book... Currently maybe at 70%. I would say it is not bad but nor super interesting. I do like all the characters and how they progress from book 1, so I don't want to DNF, but meanwhile there isn't a lot going on plot-wise. But maybe next week I could finish it...
- Started reading Dracula, very fun writing style, I like it so far.
Knitting
- Working on the Plain Yoke Tee, using the yarn I unravelled from SABAI top. The Rowan Creative Linen yarn is super easy to work with, very smooth on the needles. It does create a thicker fabric, but it is 50% linen and 50% cotton, I think it should be fine to wear in summer for most of the time. I really like the round yoke increase, and some German short rows at the back to shape it nicely. Overall a good pattern for a simple tee!
