Weekly Notes #6
Mar 30 - April 5
I'm enjoying my 5-day easter break!
Running and Swimming
- Recovering from last weekend's running event, I ran once on Wednesday for 6km, and 9km on Sunday. I also went on a short but steep 4km hike on Friday.
- I went swimming on Tuesday for 1km, no one was there so I had the entire pool by myself.
Reading
- 很久没有读网文了,这周读了尼罗的新作品《大夜之昴》。大概用两天时间一口气读完了,还是很精彩的,很喜欢文绉绉的感觉。
- Reading The Odyssey (Emily Wilson translation), currently on Book 5.
- 為什麼我不用社群媒體了?
Traveling
- I went to Canberra for the easter break. We took a coach from Sydney for about 3 hrs. The capital was surprisingly empty, with wide streets but barely anyone walking, and much much less car traffic in any major city I have visited. The urban planning was formal and follows the "grand manner" idea, and it is fun to see it on the satellite map as well as on top of the Mount Ainslie. It is somewhat similar to 景山 of Beijing.

Tech
- I am thinking of stopping my Apple Music subscription. I have ditched Spotify for years and don't even care about how my podcast is doing on that platform (it still catches the RSS). Apple Music was cheaper, but now I would like to go offline and go back to own and download music.
- I'm using Alacritty! A tech milestone haha. So far I only learned to do 1 task: downloading YouTube videos and convert to mp3 in 1.5 steps.

- I also buy and download FLAC music using Bandcamp
- I plan to look for a CD player and dig out my old CDs when I go home later this year.
